Story
The story centers around growing tensions between the two powers in Erebonian Empire in the recent years. One is the Noble Faction, which centralizes around the Four Great Nobles, about maintaining tradition to the areas ruled by aristocracy. Another one is the Reformist Faction, consisted of the commoners with Giliath Osborne, the Iron Chancellor as their leader, and opposes the Noble Faction's ideology. As the two sides could not come to an agreement, tensions continue to grow in most areas in the Empire even affect the younger generations.
OK, so our hero is Rean Schwarzer - paladin, katana-wielder and siscon. Game starts with him being enrolled into a super cool Thors academy where in place division between nobles and commoners(they are put into separated classes) He alongside with bunch of other weirdos ends up in special Class VII which is only class mixing nobles and commoners.
Story itself takes quite slow pace and develop very quickly at the end(some may consider it as too quick). Sadly the story itself is setting stage for next game so you should be very careful if you suspect quick addiction.
Overall it is a nice mix of fantasy and techno gives game nice charm.
Each chapter follows next pattern:
- A bit of school stuff and prologue.
- Practical exam(simple fights with special conditions)
- Outdoor studies. Going out in two groups to work for free(actually you're getting rewards). And also solving problems between classmates(after all Rean is the leader of Class).
- Social stuff to improve relations with classmates(which gives gameplay bonuses).
- Investigation of school's dungeon. Each chapter will require that you clear dungeon level. The dungeon itself is short and not difficult even the last one.
Conclusion: Despite the fact that the first game is just setting stage for the sequel i enjoyed it quite a lot. 9/10
