Act 2

Back on the Courageous, our party resumes flying around.

This time Millium wants to be in Rean sortie... Not like i would mind to have reliable loli in my party.

Again, our band got some quests to do.

While we can skip not mandatory quest, i would not skip this one.

By the way, our ship got a nap room!

Important discovery, i daresay.

You can take a nap!

Sadly we got no napping time.

Some sensei want to train Rean and there is also some monster to deal with along Garrelia Byroad.

I'm not even mentioning serious crisis in Ymir. Even though it is not a mandatory quest...

Mission save Ymir onsen

First Rean starts with urgent crisis in Ymir.

It seems there are some troubles at Phoenix Wing which is cool place with onsen.

Our band cannot ignore troubles in such important place.


By the way, Rean and party can warmp up a bit at city center.

Rean is taking it easy with lolis

It is also nice cuz you can build up CP which is always handy.

Besides, let your waifu rest a bit, after all!


Returning to the topic... It is time to investigate mysterious things in onsen.

After all onsen is almost holy as loli!

After talking with stuff there our party finds out following:

  • Troubles happen at night;
  • It seems like a Ghost (Millium reaction alert!).

Definitely something is suspicious so our party decided to take a watch in the onsen. And enjoy too...

First watch

First are going in male part of our band.

You didn't expect everyone to go in together, right? :P

Still regardless how much they enjoy wait, nothing happens.

Seems like out of luck?

Wild Millium appears!

Hold your hopes!

This is not a such kind of game!

Turns out guys are out of time... And Millium decided to kick Rean and others out.

As usual Fie eyes are sharp and Emma has a load of those...

Regardless, enjoy girl bath time while you can...

It is not long before girls notice something suspicious.

Creepy whatever it is!

You could almost miss this... a thing?

But to attack cute girls in onsen! Such a disgraceful thing!

Whatever it is, you can guess reaction of girls, right?

Guess, who is gonna come for a rescue? :)

Your typical onsen comedical situation

Definitely someone is gonna get a punishment.

Well, you can guess that Millium doesn't really mind, but other girls... Let just say i would prefer to avoid punishment from Laura and Fie.

There is a bit of awkward silence and two of these things escape!

Alas, there is no time for punishment, Rean goes after them.

You got to do some snowboarding to catch these monsters, but nothing impossible.

Since Millium got some nice robot, she also helps to catch these things.

And our band catches up pretty quickly.

But nothing is easy in japanese games...

Wild Big Thing appears

It seems like boss of these things suddenly appear. Not a big deal for our party.

Still take note that it is not a complete pushover.

I would suggest to quickly finish this thing as it is capable of freezing.

After that, celebrate your success.

Things are beaten

And don't forget that Rean also gotta get a lesson...

I'll Make a Mech Out of You

Neihardt-sensei wants to spar with Rean. Well, considering that sensei is pretty seasoned fighter, so it might pretty tough.

But before, let's make a short stop at the Proving Ground. There Rean will find Munk (weird radio maniac).

Munk lost his favorite sticker and asks to find it... He even agrees to enlist into our crew.

Not like i want this guy, but Rean is pretty kind... So our band agrees to undertake this quest.

Luckily for us it is at the same place where sensei is waiting for us. Our next destination is Twin Dragons Bridge.

Since we ain't in hurry, our party might as well to take a look around.

After that we need to go into commander office (where Fiona has been taken hostage).

There we'll find Fiona and her father. He seems to be pretty shaken about recent events and unsure how to guarantee Fiona safety.

Fiona is a bit reluctant to accept armored escort though. And Rean will find out who is actually boss in this family.

After that we can ask general Craig about sticker to get it.

Now we need to find Neihardt-sensei. Which isn't very difficult.

Sensei is getting ready

The request is simple: just fight.

And be sure to get Rean ready. This battle is pretty tough.

If it wouldn't be for a second pilot, i daresay there is no chance to win it.

Rean vs Neihardt

He got two attack stances and at low HP can beat Valimar pretty badly.

It is good idea to save some CP for Morning Moon stance.

Sara is the best second pilot candidate for one-to-one battles, so do not hesitate to use her.

After dealing finishing this duel, obviously successfully, we need to quickly finish one more quest.

Our band hits Garrelia Byroad and finds out quest mob.

Boring mobs There is lot of them, and they are quite annoying.

The best would to just slice them up by using S-craft.

When Rean returns to report quests to the ship, we got a sudden call from pretty familiar face.

Angelica calls you

Operation Kick Some Noble Prick Ass #2

Turns out Angelica has been up to something in Roer.

And it seems she found out where is Alisa mother.

Sadly our band is not able to hear details... Soon they could hear gunshots on other end and Angelica has been forced to cut off.

Although, she told that everything is ok, Rean and Co, cannot just leave her like that. They decided to give her a hand.

Seems like a turning point of story, so better to finish everything.

Once our party gets ready, Rean asks Towa to start operation.

This time around we cannot exactly fly into the Roer.

The only option for our party is stealth.

Sadly, Alisa has no idea how to approach her hometown unnoticed.

But there when wisdom of old man comes useful!

Old Man Gwyn help you out

Alisa grand-father has some suggestion for stealth approach. Our band can go over river to reach outskirts of town stealthy. River is going up to Ymir mountains so there is no problem to access it.

You need to select your party members, but note that Alisa is mandatory this time.

While i generally do not use her (low damage, magic type), she has a good buff for CP regen, so at least she has some use.

Rean ends up at the river nearby Roer according to the plan.

From here town gates are not too far.

So our party moves in.

But only after going through guards...

Guards

While this place is far away from battlefield, Noble Alliance is at war.

So it is unlikely that our band can get in without troubles...

Rean and Co. pretends to be travelers from far away, Ymir specifically. While technically it is true, it isn't really normal to travel several hours on foot.

One of the guards will be suspicious of our party. But luckily the second one saves party's cover.

Roer is the same

From the previous game, Roer hasn't changed much.

The only notable change is new chairman of Reinford company.

New Director

Pretty unpleasant guy, i daresay.

Still, there isn't much our band can do. Reinford company got new guards from army and we cannot exactly break in.

For now Rean decides to investigate Roer for information.

Sweet Sister?

At Cathedral Rean meets some suspicious sister, but except for that there isn't much information to find out.

Whenever we go, we only hear what we already know: current chairman is ill and replaced.

But today is truly lucky day for our band. Alisa gets a call from friend of her, to come over.

It might be a bit suspicious, but why not?

Here our party gets a bit of break.

Alisa didn't talk with her friends here in a while after all.

Turn out though they didn't call just to met.

There Rean finds out what is suspiciout about church sister.

Sweet Angelica!

I admit, i couldn't guess!

Considering Angelica character it is difficult to imagine her being nun.

Our band got lots to catch up with.

Current situation isn't exactly nice. While Angelica got some support from her father's army, her chances ain't even close to 50%. In addition to that it turns out that for a while, some divisions of Reinford company has been selling lots of iron to black market. Considering that mines are property of imperial family... Someone got into a deep shit and it seems like Angelica's uncle got a hand into it.

There is also information about Alisa's mother. It seems that they moved her a bit away from city and now she is at train station in mines.

New goal is to set Alisa's mother free.

In addition to that Angelica also suggest to take a look at her father forces.

First our party goes to scout Nortia Highway.

The road itself isn't very entertaining.

Frankly our party might find themselves bored.


But funny thing is that around this time Millium gets new S-Craft Galactic Cannon.

It is super cool.

No wonder i like to take her into party. She is just too cool.


Moving back to our story. Our destination is Schwarz Drache Barrier.

It isn't taking long for Rean to reach it. And again, you can see that empire's engineers are trying to compensate something...

Our band cannot really poke around much... But here we can find the most dangerous monster.

Not a simple monster, but a monster in human skin!

I daresay her future husband has been doomed... Let's escape as soon as possible!

Our next stop is Sachsen Mountain Path.

Faimiliar mountains

This place hasn't changed much since our last visit in the first game. Even monsters are the same.

First we need to reach mines and the path, if you remember, is pretty straightforward.

While monsters look the same, they got stronger so you cannot just rush them.

You'll find mines in almost dead silence.

While there isn't much choice, our party is going to bump into guards.

We got lots of fights... So let's just rush in and free Alisa mother!

Angelica is by the going to fight with our band.

But i suggest to move her to back, after all familiar party setup is better.

Pretty soon Rean finds out our target.

This place is crawling with jaegers so it is not going to be simple.

We got to beat lots of them before reaching train.

Turns out these jaegers are not some noobs.

They quickly radio comrades and gets train on the move.

Seems like we got to jump in...

We'll get into fights almost each wagon before reaching chairman.

Also, we have time to look around and this train got some style.

I wouldn't mind to travel like that.

Fights are a bit tedious and pretty much repetitive.

On other hand train is pretty narrow so crafts with line range are very useful.

Especially Rean's craft that also delays enemies.

With that you can pretty much run through train without much of damage.

Still it would be better to save some CP for S-craft.

Rean and Co. got into ambush!

Our party is at disadvantage, and since we saved quite a lot of CP, we can just finish enemies with few S-crafts.

It will be last attempt to stop our party.

Now we can finally save Alisa mother or so we thought...

She sure seems to be pretty relaxed...

Well, if you remember her, then it shouldn't be a big surprise.

But for her guards it is...

Still, despite Fie-sensei attempts to teach this jaeger some sense, there is no way to talk him out.

Everything is lost? - you could think, but do not forget for whom super maid is working.

What else we could expect...?

Still, it is a bit disappointing that our efforts served mostly as distraction.

Well at least Alisa mother is safe.

Now that we have actual Reinford chairman we can kick out this acting chairman. We also got nice train and way into Reinford company building. With that we can take care of impostor chairman.

Just see, his face... You would think that he already pissed his pants.

Regardless, we can focus on getting into his office. This bastard decided to move into Alisa's mother office so it will take a while to reach him.

When our party arrives we got to split.

Sharon escorts chairman to get control of building.

Rean and Co. is going to take care of director Heidel.

Reinford building is filled with machines and all of them are going to try to stop you. No chance of winning for them, but it will take a while for our party to reach chairman office.

Once we'll reach top floor, we finally gotta see our enemy.

While Heidel is just worm, he got lots of toys.

And they are hidden so we'll get a surprise attack. At least it is not complete ambush, otherwise our party could get hurt pretty badly.

White machine is pretty serious fighter, but it is pretty easily can get delayed.

With that we can pretty much stop it from taking turn completely. And if it will not take a turn, then it is easy win. Our heroes just shouldn't forget to clean up this place of small drones.

Now let's just see Heidel face...

Luckily for us chairman already took control of building. There will be no more machines so we can relax.

Well... After this scene i started to respect this woman. And also i hope never to make her angry.

After this punch Heidel is sure gonna remember to not anger her.

With that our ship can finally land in Roer.

Still it is not end, we still got to deal with Angelica father.

Angelica father

He is stationed at Schwarz Drache Barrier and most likely is already aware of Heidel fate.

Game will let you to set upgrades on Valimar. And be sure to do it, because next mech battle is going to tough.

Angelica called upon her supporters and went to fight with her father. Our party is just going to act as witness to this battle.

If everything will go well, then we wouldn't need to fight. But it is unlikely of course...

They will finish in a single duel: daughter vs father.

And I'll let Fie to just explain this fight:

Don't worry though.

Barely, but Angelica wins this duel.

Her father agrees to withdraw from Noble Alliance.

This will be a serious impact on their forces for sure.

But as i told you, it is not that simple. After you did need to prepare your mech.

Suddenly wild giant appears.

This bastard got lots of HP and lot of damage to do.

Sara here is must have as a secondary pilot. With her debuff you can significantly weaken this Goliath.

Good tactic would be save CP as much as possible. Morning moon here is pretty much safe guard as this enemy skills can deal lots of damage.

After beating this guy and letting him self-destruct we got lots cut scenes to watch.

But basically our party saved Reinford company and Rogner family left Noble Alliance.

Rest time

That has been a pretty intense operation.

Rean and Co. deserves some rest.

Now that Roer isn't controlled by noble army anymore, Rean can walk around whenever he wants to.

Again though, I'll share only my favorite moments with you.

First let's help Millium to look around train for something important. She is pretty fond of it and well Rean cannot leave cute loli without help, right?

Yep, our secret agent got some cute bear. It seems to be present from grandpa Osborne.

There will be some interesting talks, but i suggest to play a game so that you could learn more about how cool is Millium.

Our next stop is shopping with Laura. Well, to be more precise she's curious about modern stuff for home. After all she got some cute complex about being not feminine enough.

And don't forget how clumsy she can be...

Although it makes her even more cute, shop stuff ain't happy about all of it at all. Laura will get a bit depressed about all of it, but no worries! Rean got it covered: he'll explain how great is Laura.

Luckily at least Alisa helped a bit to not get into debt.

Our last stop is Fie. And she is at airport.

She wants to help kitty to find its family. Rean cannot leave her witout help so they gonna do it together.

It will take a while but they'll find kitty family in the end.

That ends a second of act of this chapter. Rean returns to Courageous to finish this day. And I'll see you in next chapter of this walk!
